Kolkata Police maintained a strict vigil throughout the day to ensure a peaceful Dola celebration in the city. Police pickets were strategically deployed at various locations while plainclothes officers and specialized teams such as the Police bike patrolling team and Mahila Police Vijetha team were actively present on the streets. This proactive approach aimed to prevent any untoward incidents.
In a display of effective policing, Kolkata Police successfully averted any major disruptions during the festivities. However, the day saw a total of 305 arrests related to misconduct, with a significant seizure of illicit liquor amounting to approximately 47 liters. Notably, the heightened security measures were part of Kolkata Police's broader strategy for ensuring public safety during the Dol Yatra and Holi celebrations, with extra vigilance extended across the city on Monday and Tuesday.
